September 24, 2012

Intellinet, a management consulting and award-winning Microsoft-centric technology services firm, announced today that experts Leo Furlong, Paul Wood, Mike Oryszak, Ben Adams, and Geoff Hiten were recently selected to present at SQL Saturday BI Edition in Charlotte on October 27, 2012.

Leo Furlong, Practice Director of Business Intelligence at Intellinet, will co-present a beginner level session with expert John Head entitled It's a Hard Ops Life! During the session they will discuss the process of discovering a company's operational MDM issues, setting up a program for addressing the real problems, and trying to make real organization change to not only clean up the data, but prevent it from getting dirty in the first place.

Intellinet Principal Consultant, Paul Wood, will teach the intermediate level session Making SharePoint Data "Sing" with Visio Services. The session will cover a quick overview of Visio Services configuration, Visio 2010 tips and tricks, and connecting Visio diagrams to data in SharePoint. Several demos throughout the session will enable attendees to leave with the knowledge needed to immediately start using Visio Services.

Mike Oryszak, Practice Director of Portals & Collaboration at Intellinet will lead the intermediate level presentation Display Line of Business Data in SharePoint. The session will provide a full overview of the Business Connectivity Services (BCS) offered in SharePoint, show how it can be used to connect to different data sources, and then demonstrate the other advantages of using External Content Types instead of a custom developed report including lookup columns and search.

Intellinet Senior Consultant, Ben Adams, will present the intermediate level session What DBAs need to know about SharePoint Databases. During this session he will review how SharePoint Databases behave and how to maintain them, the proper setup for a SQL Server that is supporting SharePoint, and potential pitfalls to avoid.

Geoff Hiten, Intellinet Architect and Microsoft SQL Server MVP, will teach a strong structured process for a successful SQL Server migration using examples focused on SharePoint workloads in his intermediate level presentation Moving Day - Successful SQL Migrations with SharePoint.

Intellinet is honored to sponsor SQL Saturday Charlotte, BI Edition at the Gold level.
